For the first time in the History of the America’s Cup, young, talented sailors have a clear pathway towards competing for their country in one of the most prestigious trophies in sport. The Red Bull Youth America’s Cup opens the door for young sailors to gain the experience they need to contribute to a Cup Team. The competition is open to national teams of 6 sailors, aged 19 to 24 in 2013 and will be sailed on the AC45 catamaran. Regattas are scheduled September 1-4, 2013, in San Francisco, during the break between the start of the 2013 America’s Cup Finals and the conclusion of the Louis Vuitton Cup, the America’s Cup Challengers Series.
